**Short answer:** It's usually four steps: a short form, a call, a contract, then access to your workspace. Expect one to two weeks from first message to launch – and the longest part is normally you, because material has to exist before the first post goes up. None of these steps should cost you money.

Applying for the first time means not knowing what's coming – and that stops a lot of people from applying at all. Here is the process as we run it. Other agencies look similar; where there are differences, they're noted.

## 1. The form

A few details: name, contact, whether you already have accounts, how much time you have. Five minutes. **Nothing should cost anything at this point** – no fee, no "application package".

What is not asked for yet: ID, bank details, photos. An agency that wants those in the first step, before anyone has spoken, is a warning sign.

## 2. The first call

A phone or video call, usually half an hour. Both sides work out whether this fits.

What you get asked:

- How much time do you really have in a week?
- What do you want to do – and what absolutely not?
- Who around you knows, and where must you not be recognised?
- What do you want to achieve financially?

What you should be asking is on our [transparency page](https://impulse.management/en/transparency/) – the same questions any agency should be measured against.

**The question about the people around you isn't nosiness.** It decides whether your face is visible, where you shoot and which platforms are even an option. Asking it later means asking it too late.

## 3. The contract

In writing, before you start. What belongs in it and what doesn't is covered in [what to check in an agency contract](https://impulse.management/en/blog/what-to-check-in-an-onlyfans-agency-contract/). The short version: no setup fee, no minimum term, no commission after it ends, account and footage stay yours.

Read it properly. An agency pushing for a signature the same day has a reason, and it isn't one that works in your favour.

## 4. Access

Then you get your own workspace: your weekly plan, your numbers, your uploads and the guides. From here the work runs through one place instead of three WhatsApp threads.

## 5. The starter set

The part almost nobody expects: **before accounts get built, material has to exist.** Otherwise day one is an empty profile, and an empty profile gets no subscribers.

With us that's 50 non-explicit photos in different outfits and locations, three scripts of ten photos and six videos each, a profile and a header image, and one voice note. The detail is in [what content you need to start](https://impulse.management/en/blog/content-you-need-to-start-on-onlyfans/).

This is the step that decides how long launch takes. Push through it over a weekend and you're done in a week; shoot it alongside everything else and it takes three.

## 6. The accounts

Only now do the profiles get created and filled – with material that already exists.

## 7. Running

Weekly plan, content production, chatting, invoicing. From here it's routine.

## The seven steps at a glance

| Step | What happens | How long |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1. Form | a few details, no money | 5 minutes |
| 2. First call | time, boundaries, situation, goal | half an hour |
| 3. Contract | in writing, read properly | 1–3 days |
| 4. Access | your own workspace | immediately |
| 5. Starter set | shooting around 100 pieces | 2 days to 3 weeks |
| 6. Accounts | profiles created and filled | 1–2 days |
| 7. Running | weekly plan, content, chatting | ongoing |

## How long does it take?

Steps 1 to 4 are a week, often less. Step 5 is down to you. Realistically: **one to three weeks** from applying to the first post.

## Why applications get turned down

So you know beforehand:

- **Not enough time.** Under five hours a week doesn't make a plan that holds.
- **Under 18, or no valid ID.** That isn't a judgement call, it's a platform requirement.
- **Boundaries that don't add up.** If you don't want to show anything beyond what an Instagram profile shows, a paid platform will not make you happy. That's not a verdict on you – it's the wrong building site.
- **Expectations too far from reality.** Anyone counting on four figures in month one will be disappointed. What is [realistic](https://impulse.management/en/blog/how-much-can-a-new-onlyfans-creator-earn/) is covered elsewhere.

A no for those reasons isn't a judgement. It beats a start that runs into nothing after six weeks.
