# Free trials on OnlyFans: when they are worth it

Rule of thumb: 7 days, a limited number of links, and a conversation by day two at the latest. Without the chat, a trial link buys you subscriber counts and nothing else.

## What a trial actually is

OnlyFans lets you create trial links: new subscribers get free access for a set period, after which the subscription rolls into normal billing — unless they cancel first. Most of them cancel.

That is not a reason to skip trials. It is the reason the trial period is work rather than waiting.

## When it makes sense

A free trial is worth running in three situations:

**You are new and have few subscribers.** An empty profile sells badly — not because the content is missing, but because nobody wants to be first. Fifty trial subscribers turn an empty profile into a living one.

**Your reach is bigger than your subscriber count.** If people arrive from Instagram every day and little happens on the profile, the obstacle is the price, not the interest. A trial removes it once.

**You want to test a niche.** Before committing weeks to a direction, try it inside a trial group and watch what people actually respond to.

It does not make sense if your profile is already doing well. Then you are giving away access to people who would have paid.

## The numbers that matter

What matters is not how many people take the trial. It is how many stay afterwards.

That last line is the one most people overlook. The trial period is when curiosity peaks — individual pieces of content sell there, even when the subscription ends afterwards. A trial that produced no single sale was not a pricing problem, it was a conversation problem.

## How long, how many

**Seven days.** Three is too short for a conversation, thirty invites people to look at everything and then cancel.

**A limited number.** "The first 25" works differently from an open link — not because it is scarce, but because it asks for a decision today instead of someday.

**Not permanently.** A trial link that lives in your bio turns your price into a suggestion. Anyone who knows it will be free again next week never pays.

## Where it goes wrong

The mistake is almost always the same: the link goes out, the numbers rise, and then nothing happens. Seven days later everyone is gone.

What has to happen instead:

1. **Day 1** — a message to every new subscriber. Not a broadcast; one that fits them.
2. **Days 2–3** — a conversation. Not selling; finding out what they are interested in.
3. **Days 4–5** — an offer that matches. Now is the moment.
4. **Day 6** — an honest note that the trial is ending, and what comes next.

That is work per subscriber. Which is exactly why the number is limited: twenty-five conversations are doable, three hundred are not.
