**Short answer:** Same platforms, a different frame. In Switzerland the income is assessed as self-employment, VAT only applies from 100,000 francs of turnover a year, and in 2026 you pay up to 10 percent of your earned income to AHV, IV and EO through the compensation office. This does not replace a tax adviser, but it gives you the right terms to walk in with.

Creators from Switzerland move on the same platforms as everyone else — but within their own tax and practical framework. This article summarises what runs differently for Swiss creators. It does not replace tax advice, but it hands you the right keywords for the conversation with a professional.

## Taxes: the Swiss basics

Income from OnlyFans and comparable platforms is taxable income from self-employment in Switzerland — it belongs in your tax return regardless of how small it is at first. Social security contributions (AHV/IV/EO) on self-employed income come on top; registration runs through your canton's compensation office. As revenue grows, VAT eventually becomes relevant — the obligation only starts above a turnover threshold of 100,000 francs per year; below that you are exempt.

Since tax rates differ by canton, an early conversation with a fiduciary pays off — but the ground rule holds everywhere: declare, don't hope. We have described the German and Austrian view in their own articles ([Germany](https://impulse.management/en/blog/tax-on-onlyfans-income-in-germany/), [Austria](https://impulse.management/en/blog/tax-on-onlyfans-income-in-austria/)) — Switzerland is structurally similar, just with its own thresholds and terms.

| | Switzerland | Germany | Austria |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Income category | self-employed activity | a trade | a trade or "new self-employment" |
| VAT | from CHF 100,000 turnover | above 25,000 € previous-year or 100,000 € current-year turnover | above 55,000 € turnover a year |
| Social contributions | AHV/IV/EO via the compensation office | health and pension insurance | SVS |
| Tax rate | varies by canton | one federal schedule | one federal schedule |

The last row is why an adviser from your own canton is worth more than any general guide.

## AHV, IV and EO: the 2026 contributions

As a self-employed person you pay the AHV, IV and EO contributions entirely yourself: 8.1 percent AHV, 1.4 percent IV and 0.5 percent EO, 10 percent of earned income in total. Lower incomes pay a lower rate:

| Annual earned income | Contribution in 2026 |
| --- | --- |
| below CHF 10,100 | minimum contribution of CHF 530 a year |
| CHF 10,100 to below 60,500 | sliding scale from 5.371 to 9.321 percent |
| from CHF 60,500 | 10.0 percent |
| as a side occupation up to CHF 2,500 | contributions only if you ask for them |

On top, the compensation office charges administrative costs of at most 5 percent of the contributions. The calculation uses the income of the contribution year – provisionally at first, finally after the tax assessment.

## Payouts and currency

Platforms generally pay out in dollars or euros — but as a Swiss creator you live in francs. To avoid losing money in conversion, your setup needs an account that can hold foreign currencies and a deliberate approach to the exchange rate. That is exactly what the [international banking](https://impulse.management/en/blog/international-banking-for-creators/) article covers — it applies to Switzerland one to one, just with the sign flipped: your home currency is the hardest one in play.

## What stays the same

Platform choice, [building reach](https://impulse.management/en/blog/promoting-your-onlyfans/), chat, [anonymity](https://impulse.management/en/blog/work-anonymously-on-onlyfans-without-showing-your-face/) — the craft does not differ from the rest of the German-speaking world. Neither do the criteria for a [legitimate agency](https://impulse.management/en/blog/how-to-recognize-a-legitimate-onlyfans-agency/).

## Support from one source

We manage German-speaking creators regardless of country of residence — the work runs remotely, and tax questions are handled with a view to your country. If you are starting or growing from Switzerland: the [first conversation](https://impulse.management/en/#contact) is non-binding.
