**Short answer:** Boundaries belong on paper before the first conversation runs — a list of what is fine, what is fine at a surcharge and what never happens. Deciding in chat means deciding under pressure: it moves fast, someone offers more, and you say yes to something that exists afterwards. Declining kindly is a skill, not a character trait — and it costs less revenue than most people expect.

A boundary that only appears mid-conversation is not a boundary but a negotiating position. Here is how to turn that around.

## The list that comes first

| Yes | Yes, for a surcharge | Never |
| --- | --- | --- |
| what you do anyway | extra effort: a name in the recording, a particular outfit, a particular sequence | anything unlawful |
| at your normal price | **with the price stated**, not "on request" | anything involving other people without their consent |
| | | anything you hesitate over while reading |

The third column is not explained and not negotiated. The hesitation is the answer.

Three columns, nothing more:

- **Fine.** What you do anyway, at the normal price.
- **Fine at a surcharge.** Anything that means extra work — footage with a name in it, a particular outfit, a particular sequence. The price goes next to it, not "on request".
- **Never.** The most important column. It is not explained and not negotiated.

Into the third column goes anything that is not legal, anything involving other people without their consent, and anything you hesitate over while reading. The hesitation is the answer.

With us this list sits with the model and with the [chat team](https://impulse.management/en/blog/working-as-a-chatter-for-an-onlyfans-agency/) — otherwise someone negotiates in her name over something she never agreed to. What applies to custom requests is in its own piece on [custom requests](https://impulse.management/en/blog/custom-requests-in-chat/).

## Why it does not work in the conversation

In chat everything works against you: it moves fast, the amount is on the table, and declining feels like throwing money away. Exactly the same situation as during a [paid live show](https://impulse.management/en/blog/paid-live-shows/), only without an audience.

The point is not willpower. The point is that the decision was made somewhere else — in the evening, calmly, on paper.

## Declining kindly

A refusal that lands well does three things: it says no, it explains nothing, and it offers something else.

> "I don't do that — but I have something you might like."

No apology, no reasoning. Reasoning invites argument ("but if nobody sees it…"); an apology frames the boundary as a mistake. Offer an alternative straight away and in most cases you do not lose the customer at all.

## When someone should be blocked

Not every unpleasant message is a case. These four are:

1. **Repeating after a no.** Asking once is normal. Asking the same thing three times is a test.
2. **Pressure or threats.** Including the politely wrapped kind ("would be a shame if someone…").
3. **Asking for your real name, town or workplace.** What that carries is covered under [protecting your identity](https://impulse.management/en/blog/protect-your-identity-on-onlyfans/).
4. **Anything aimed at minors.** Block and report immediately, without replying.

Blocking costs one subscriber and saves three weeks. Hesitating because the person pays well costs more later.

## What this has to do with revenue

Less than the fear suggests. Accounts with clear boundaries do not earn less — they earn more calmly. What genuinely costs revenue is the week where someone does not want to upload anything after a conversation.

## Our take

Writing the list beforehand takes half an hour and is the best half hour of the month. If a chat team writes for you it is not a recommendation but a requirement — we start with it before the first conversation runs. More in the [first call](https://impulse.management/#contact).
