**Short answer:** X is the only large platform that explicitly allows adult content, provided the account is marked as such. That is exactly why it is the second strongest free source after Reddit for many creators. The limits are still there: marked accounts are demoted in search and recommendations, and an account that only posts links becomes invisible in the timeline.

On X you can post what Instagram deletes. That is the entire reason the channel matters for creators — and the reason it works differently from everything next to it.

## What is allowed

X permits adult content if the account is marked accordingly in its settings and the individual posts are marked too. Then only logged-in adult users see the content and your account survives. Without that marking you risk a suspension — and it usually hits the whole account, not the single post.

What does not work there is the same everywhere: anything without documented consent from everyone involved, and anything involving minors. Neither gets a warning; it gets removed and reported.

## The quiet price of the marking

A marked account is allowed but not equal. It appears less often in search and recommendations, sometimes not at all, and is barely suggested to other users. That is not a personal penalty but the platform's default — and the reason creator accounts on X grow very slowly when they stand alone.

## What actually brings traffic on X

- **Pinned posts.** Your best post pinned at the top is your real profile page — it gets seen more than anything else.

- **Regularity.** Several posts a day, spread across the day. An account that posts three times a week does not exist for the timeline.

What does not work: an account that only drops links. X pushes posts with links down anyway, and a profile made of nothing but promotion does not get shared.
