Becoming a chatter without experience: switching careers, the first shift, what is required

Almost every good chatter started without experience — the job has not existed long enough for anything else. What counts is something other than a CV.

What is actually required

Confident German. Not literary, but clean enough that a conversation feels natural. Anyone who has to think about every second sentence will not be fast enough.

Reliability. Shifts you agree to are shifts you work. That is the requirement most people fail on — not the writing.

A thicker skin. Unpleasant messages arrive. Anyone taking that personally stops enjoying it within two weeks.

Wanting to sell. Chatting is selling inside a conversation. Being merely pleasant earns little; pushing burns customers. The middle path can be learned.

What is not required: industry experience, a certain age, a certain gender, a degree.

What the job really is

You write to a creator's fans in her name. You know her biography — where she lives, her routine, her preferences, what she would never say — and you stay in that role. The aim is that the fan feels seen and that something gets sold. Both at once: that is the actual craft.

How training works

First the basics: how a conversation is built, how to handle typical situations, when an offer fits and when it does not. Then the creator's biography — without it nobody can write in a role, and anything invented stays in the history forever.

The first shifts are supervised: someone reads along and gives feedback before you work alone.

The first shift

It feels slow. You read the history, look for the right tone, think about every message. That is normal and lasts about two weeks.

What helps most: not pretending to know everything. Asking costs five minutes; an invented detail costs the fan.

How to spot a bad offer

How it works with us
