How often should you post? Instagram, TikTok and OnlyFans

Short answer
One to two reels a day on Instagram and TikTok plus stories, three to five posts a week on the platform itself, and messages every day. More important than any of those numbers: never leave a gap. Three weeks off costs more reach than four weeks of daily posting builds.
The numbers you can plan with
There is no number that fits everyone — but there is a range below which essentially nothing happens:
| Where | How often | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram Reels | 1–2 daily | new reach |
| Instagram Stories | 3–5 daily | retention, redirection |
| TikTok | 1–3 daily | new reach |
| Platform (feed) | 3–5 weekly | a reason to stay |
| Platform (messages) | daily | revenue |
The last row is the one that earns. The rows above it are the ones that get people there at all.
Why consistency beats volume
The recommendation systems on Instagram and TikTok do not reward effort, they reward reliability. An account that shows nothing for three weeks is not punished — it is simply shown less often, because there is nothing to show. Rebuilding afterwards takes longer than the break did.
In practice: one reel a day for eight weeks beats seven in one day and then two weeks of silence. The second version feels more productive and delivers less.
How to manage that without filming daily
The trick is not more time, it is batching. One planned shoot day produces content for one to two weeks — setting up, changing and clearing away cost roughly an hour per shoot day, whether two videos come out of it or twenty.
A week then looks like this:
- One shoot day — twenty clips, three or four outfits, one lighting setup.
- One editing day — finish everything, set hooks, queue it up.
- The rest of the week — post, reply, sell.
Filming spontaneously every day costs three times as much for the same output. More on that in How much time does OnlyFans really take?.
What a break actually costs
A holiday is not a problem; unplanned silence is. The difference is the queue: two weeks produced in advance means two weeks away without a gap anywhere.
What has to keep running during a break:
- The posts — from the queue, scheduled.
- The messages — the part that cannot be produced in advance.
That is exactly where a team comes in: the conversations continue while nobody is filming. What that means in detail is in What does an OnlyFans agency actually do?.
When less is better
Posting more only helps as long as quality keeps up. Three strong reels beat ten arbitrary ones — not for aesthetic reasons, but because weak videos drag down the account's rates, which means the strong ones get shown less too.
A useful test: if your thought while uploading is "this is okay", do not upload it. Spend the day filming instead.
In short
- 1–2 reels daily, 3–5 stories, 3–5 platform posts a week.
- Messages every day — that is the row that earns.
- No gap matters more than any of those numbers.
- Producing ahead makes holidays possible; the conversations carry on regardless.
