What is the minimum age to create content on OnlyFans?

3 min read · Updated on 2026-08-19

The short answer is eighteen. There is no exception, no discretion and no version of this that works with a parent's consent. The rest of this article explains why the rule is enforced so tightly and what that means in practice.

Eighteen, everywhere

The minimum age applies regardless of where you live. Even in countries where legal adulthood arrives earlier, it stays at eighteen. What counts is the date of birth on your ID document, not what you enter in the sign up form.

This applies to creators and to anyone appearing in the content. If you produce alongside other people, you need to be able to prove their age too.

Why the checks are so strict

Platforms hosting adult content sit under heavy regulatory pressure. Payment providers, regulators and legislators in several countries require robust proof of age. A single case involving a minor can be an existential problem for a platform.

That is why nothing is taken at face value. Verification runs through documents and a biometric comparison.

How verification works

You upload an official document and record a live selfie. An external provider compares the two and checks that the document is genuine. If anything is unclear, a second request follows, sometimes asking for a different document.

The check usually takes a few hours to two working days.

Access to content is regulated too

In a growing number of countries and US states, viewers now have to prove their age as well, not just creators. That changes nothing about your own obligations, but it explains why the platform allows no flexibility on this subject at all.

What happens if the rule is broken

An account opened with false age details is closed. Any balance is generally withheld, and re registering is not possible. Depending on the country, criminal consequences follow that go far beyond losing an account.

This applies retroactively as well. Accounts do get reviewed years later.

If you are close to your eighteenth birthday

Wait. A prepared plan, a stage name, a content schedule and a second channel for reach can all be built beforehand, entirely legally. What you should not do is register using someone else's ID. That is identity fraud, and it lands on the person whose document was used as well as on you.

What is worth settling in advance

Whether you want to work with or without showing your face. Under which name. Which channels you will use to build an audience. How you keep your work and your private life apart. And whether you handle the tax side yourself or bring in help.

Checks continue later

Verification does not end when your account goes live. Accounts get reviewed again, both at random and for cause: unusual growth, reports from third parties, or a payment provider asking for evidence.

In practice that means replacing a document before it expires. And if you produce alongside other people, keeping their proof of age filed properly rather than having to hunt for it under pressure.

That paperwork protects you as well. Being able to show that everyone involved was of age puts you in a far better position in a dispute than relying on a verbal assurance.

If you want to start on solid ground

We work exclusively with creators over eighteen and verify that before any collaboration. If you are of age and would rather not build this alone, talk to us about the first steps.
