What an agency actually takes on
The core is always the same: everything except the content. In practice that means account management, marketing and audience growth, messaging with fans, pricing and dealing with leaks. What an agency does not take on: filming. Anyone telling you that you will "barely have to do anything" is selling an expectation that collapses within two months.
What is different in Germany
Three points that get underestimated in German-speaking countries.
You are self-employed, not an employee. An agency is your service provider, not your employer. That means registering a business, filing your own tax return and arranging your own health insurance. Details are in Registering a business and Tax on OnlyFans income in Germany.
The platform is based abroad. That has consequences for VAT and for how and when you get paid. An agency that cannot say anything about this has little experience with German creators.
Data protection is not a side note here. ID copies, addresses, bank details: anyone handling them needs an answer to where that data sits and who can access it.

What it costs

What it should not cost: money upfront. Onboarding fees, mandatory training packages and required equipment purchases are a business model of their own — one that works even if you never earn a euro.
The questions to ask before signing
Who owns the account? Who holds the login details? How long does the contract run and how do you get out? Who writes to your fans — a fixed team or rotating subcontractors? What happens to the account, the content and ongoing income after the contract ends?

When an agency is not worth it
This case exists, and honestly it belongs here. If you already have a working audience, enjoy chatting yourself and have your routines under control, you are paying for something you can already do.
